Millions of middle-class people could get Medicaid

WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama’s health care law would let several million middle-class people get nearly free insurance meant for the poor, a twist government number crunchers say they discovered only after the complex bill was signed.

The change would affect early retirees: A married couple could have an annual income of about $64,000 and still get Medicaid, said officials who make long-range cost estimates for the Health and Human Services department.

After initially downplaying any concern, the Obama administration said late Tuesday it would look for a fix.

Up to 3 million more people could qualify for Medicaid in 2014 as a result of the anomaly. That’s because, in a major change from today, most of their Social Security benefits would no longer be counted as income for determining eligibility.

It might be compared to allowing middle-class people to qualify for food stamps.

‘Doesn’t make sense’
Medicare chief actuary Richard Foster said the situation was keeping him up at night.

“I don’t generally comment on the pros or cons of policy, but that just doesn’t make sense,” Foster said during a question-and-answer session at a recent professional society meeting.

“This is a situation that got no attention at all,” added Foster. “And even now, as I raise the issue with various policymakers, people are not rushing to say … we need to do something about this.”

Crystal Healing – Balancing The Mind With Crystals And Gemstones

Crystal healing is a form of alternative healing, using crystals and gemstones. The idea behind it is that crystals are often said to help stimulate the healing process. As healing can be as much emotional as it is physical, this form of treatment has been used for headaches, insomnia and cancer.

The crystals are said to contain energy that can be transferred to restore health and fight against disease, as well as offer spiritual guidance. The argument some supporters of crystal healing make is that, whilst the stones do not cure disease directly, they can help to correct the underlying problems. Each healer has their own opinion, and some use the method in conjunction with other methods.

The main premise behind the need for crystal healing, is that illness occurs when there is an imbalance between a person and divine energy. This divine energy, or light, is believed by some healers to be the very foundation of universal creation. The crystals are said to help correct this imbalance between us and our universe.

The gemstones are applied to certain energy centers, known as chakras. They are said to draw light and color to the aura of the body, creating a flow of energy. This flow is often thought to promote a sense of healing through the re-balancing of the body’s energy.

Reiki – The Usui Method of Natural Healing

What is Reiki? Well, Reiki is the vital life force of the Universe. The Japanese meaning of the word Reiki is universal Life Force. With Rei meaning universal consciousness, and Ki meaning life force, energy. This energy is a conscious and intelligent force that streams through and nurtures all life on earth. Reiki stems from the infinite source of all there is and can only do good.

Spiritual energy may seem an enigmatic energy not easy for the mind to comprehend. Yet, the pull of gravity when you think about it is really just as enigmatic to the mind. Scientists still don’t really know what gravity is, even though all of us on earth experience its power all through our life.

Reiki was rediscovered by Dr. Mikao Usui (1865 – 1926) after many years of investigating its Tibetan and Indian beginnings. The Usui Method of Natural Healing is a way of receiving and delivering Reiki energy.

The Reiki practitioner is just a conduit for the energy and does not pass on any personal energy or take in anyone else’s. The Reiki energy safeguards, invigorates both receiver and giver. The thing to remember is that the Reiki practitioner dose not heal the client, the practitioner only passes on the Reiki energy to help the client to set in motion their own healing powers.

The Usui Reiki method of natural healing is generally taught in three levels. At the first level you will be attuned to the Reiki energy, allowing you to use it for treating others as well as for self-healing.

How to Safely Use Rose Geranium Essential Oil

Just like anything else, it is important to realize that Pure Essential Plant Oils are not a panacea, a pill to cure all that just happens with out wisdom and knowledge. It is however an easy approach to a layman’s way of enhancing health, and mitigating pain and illness. There are important guidelines to follow. I will list a few directly from The Essential Oils Desk Reference. This book is a must if you are going to get serious about non chemically altered natural healing methods. Each of the bullet items below are a direct quote from the book.

Always keep a bottle of pure vegetable oil handy when using essential oils. Vegetable oils dilute oils if they cause discomfort or skin irritation.

Keep bottles of essential oils tightly closed and store them in a cool location away from light. If stored properly, they will maintain their potency for many years.

Pregnant women should always consult a healthcare professional when starting any type of program.

Epileptics and those with high blood pressure should consult their healthcare professional before using essential oils. Use caution with hyssop, fennel, basil, Wintergreen, Rosemary, peppermint, Sage, tarragon, and Tansy oils.

Biblical, Ancient, and Modern References to Galbanum Essential Oil

Being in the construction business for many years, I developed a habit of using only materials proven over time. I wanted the houses that I built to be superior in structure and form. I realized that I was basing my trust in time tested materials and knowledge.

If you need to have some semblance of how long essential oils have been around, and what they were used for, one only has to read throughout the old and new Testaments of the Bible, to realize that Essential Plant Oils are listed in over 200 occasions. For example, there is a reference to Moses receiving a recipe for a holy anointing oil that involved Myrrh, Cinnamon, Calamus, Cassia, and Olive oil.

And it seems that everyone knows that the Christ child was anointed with Frankincense and Myrrh. And still yet another precious aromatic called Spikenard. Here is another passage describing the anointing Jesus.

“And being in Bethany in the house of Simon the leper, as he sat at meat, there came a woman having an alabaster box of ointment of spikenard very precious; and she break the box, and poured it on his head. Mark 14:3″

And another:

“then took Mary a pound of ointment of Spikenard, very costly, and anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped his feet with her hair: and the house was filled with the odour of the ointment”. John 12:3
